THE QUESTION:What was the most important discovery, invention, or idea that the Babylonians adopted from the Sumerians and why was it so important? Explain how might history be different without this discovery, invention, or idea.

THE ANSWER BASED ON QUESTION:The most important thing that the Babylonians adopted from the Sumerians was probably their alphabet. Hammurabi's Code was written in the text used by the Sumerians. The Sumerian priests wrote the aspects of their religion in that text. If the Babylonians hadn't adopted the Sumerian text then they never would've discovered the religion. Another important invention of the Sumerian's was Irrigation. Irrigation is how the Sumerian's led their water through pipes, etc.
