Imagine that you are Darwin and you have just read Malthus's ideas about population. Write down Malthus's key ideas. Next to these ideas, write how they might apply to evolution.

Malthus was a student, that developed a model known as the population exponential growth.

I think that applies to evolution in the following way:

Populations can only grow and be successful if they are perfectly suited to their environment.

For example, frogs wouldn't be able to live in earth if they hadn't developed certain characteristics. And, if they could only live in water, they're population would indeed be smaller, and probably decrease since being able to be on land is also a method of running away from predators and catching prey.
