Can someone help me... I'm confused... show work plzzz :(
a.The record long jump is 349.5 inches. Convert this to meters.
b.The density of a certain solid is measured and found to be 12.68 g/mL. Convert this measurement into kg/L.

Respuesta :

a) 349.5 inches = 8.8773 meters

Solution : To convert inches to meters we must know the conversion factor between inches and meters.

1 inch = 0.0254 meter

[tex] (349.5 inches)\times \frac{(0.0254 meters)}{(1 inch)} [/tex]

Same units get cancel out , in the above step inches get cancel out and we will get meters.

[tex] (349.5)\times \frac{(0.0254 meters)}{(1)} [/tex]

8.8773 meters is the final answer.

b) 12.68 g/ mL = 12.68 Kg/L

We need to convert 12.68 g/mL to kg/L

We will use the conversion factor between g to Kg and mL to L.

1 kg = 1000 g

1 L = 1000 mL

[tex] (12.68\frac{g}{mL})\times \frac{(1 Kg)}{(1000g)}\times \frac{(1000 mL)}{(1L)} [/tex]

Similar units gets cancel out, in the above step 'g' and ' mL' gets cencel out and we will get kg/L.

[tex] (12.68)\times \frac{(1 Kg)}{(1000)}\times \frac{(1000)}{(1L)} [/tex]

12.68 Kg/L is the final answer.
