1. In developing countries, workers are often paid little and work long, grueling hours with few breaks and uncomfortable conditions. Some of the apparel companies doing business with these developing countries argue that they are abiding by the laws of these other countries and are simply making an economic decision to sell goods at lower prices and earn higher profits.
